Dawn is a feeling...

Today is December 23, and it's 6:40 am. The lower eastern sky is just turning. The moon's still overhead, a small and thin sliver. Today is one of those rare winter mornings when there are no clouds on the horizon, so you can just about feel the sky lightening with each heartbeat.
